This workshop is for you if...

Your clients struggle to set boundaries or prioritize their needs

They often say “yes” when they mean “no”—and it’s starting to take a toll.

You observe people-pleasing tendencies in your clients and want tools to help them

You recognize the patterns: overgiving, avoiding conflict, chronic self-sacrifice.

You’re ready to model authenticity and self-trust in your work

You believe in practicing what you teach—and leading from a place of self-trust.

It's Time to Hold Space for You As Well...

You hold space. You care deeply. You're the safe one. The dependable one. And sometimes... the exhausted one. If you're honest, there are days when it feels like your own needs get buried under the weight of everyone else's. Saying "yes" is easier than setting a boundary. Going along with something feels safer than disappointing someone. As therapists, we often attract people who mirror our own healing journeys. I myself know the experience...this will be a tool for you and your clients.  And people-pleasing—whether it shows up as overfunctioning, chronic guilt, or an inability to rest—is one of the most common (and exhausting) patterns we see. This isn’t about becoming less caring. It’s about learning how to care without self-sacrificing.

In this experiential 2-hour workshop, you'll learn how to...

Discover brain-based, body-informed tools from applied neurology and functional medicine to help clients (and you) feel safe enough to use their voice—especially when fearing conflict, rejection, or guilt.

Support clients in tuning into their somatic cues, helping them make decisions rooted in self-trust instead of external approval or old scripts

Get a clear, step-by-step framework for uncovering where people-pleasing comes from, why it persists, and how to walk clients through releasing it—without shame

Learn how to set and hold boundaries in a way that preserves empathy and safety in the therapeutic relationship—so clients learn by your example that boundaries can coexist with care.

ELYSE D. SCHUNKEWITZ, LCSW

Holistic and Functional Psychotherapist

I started my career as a clinician in the Bellevue Hospital psychiatric emergency room, all while simultaneously overcoming burnout and medication reliance.   My practice blends conventional psychotherapy with over a decade of being both a student and teacher of functional neuroscience & medicine, somatic therapies, nutrition, and fitness in order to help clients balance their nervous systems, avoid or come off medications, and transform their habits for peak performance. Today, I extend this transformative approach nationwide, teaching patients and professionals how to integrate brain and body-based training into lifelong mental wellness. I've had the honor of facilitating in person continuing education trainings for thousands of clinicians including to the mental health departments of the U.S. Air Force and NYC Department of Education.
